Like, my dad and some other family have become quite liberal since living in the US. Though, my dad was already kinda libertarian before, so who knows. I have an aunt who moved to Sweden and then to the US who is literally studying feminism and women's sexuality.
I think the issue is less so Islam and moreso the Arab interpretations of it that have spread throughout much of the old world. A lot of Muslims in the USA adopt many positive aspects American norms and culture without giving up their religion.

I'm not as well informed as you though, but I think in general the US is way better at assimilating all sorts of minority groups than Europe. Immigrants come here and they get to work.
