I'm planning on taking HRT for 1-3 months just to feel things out before I fully commit; after that I'll likely stop and decide whether or not I want to continue and handle things like banking sperm.
Is there any harm in doing this? Has anyone else ever done anything similar?

Same. On estrogen monotherapy b/c it's cheap and without major side effects of AA. Nearly 4 weeks in and not as bad as I thought it would be. No mood swings at all, libido down but not tanked, better skin, other minor changes.

I'm not in a position to dump $1k+ for something I'm not sure I'm actually going to want longterm.
My plan is mostly just to test the waters then detransition long enough to restore fertility and bank my swimmers. Fertility usually isn't even if your gonads are dormant for years, I'm only looking at 1-3 months.
If that's an issue I might just hold off though. I'm gonna be taking dutasteride no matter what happens, so I'm not in a rush.
>>40586899
That's all good to hear! I'm happy for you! I'm looking at monotherapy. I mixed up some E spray earlier today. Libido and dick function is a concern for me. It's good to hear libido wasn't a big issue for you, and I have T-gel and tadalafil on hand, so I'm set more or less.
I'm pretty nervous about breast growth though. If it becomes problematic I'll likely have to gravitate towards a SERM or reevaluate.

>Libido and dick function is a concern for me.
I haven't personally checked my levels but I've been messing around with dosing such as increasing dose slightly or increasing frequency of subq injections. Main thing thats happened is I don't randomly get urges anymore, it's more like I feel like doing it and then it's fine perhaps very slightly less intense but not really an issue.

I don't understand how you people willingly destroy your bodies. Erectile dysfunction is common and often permanent. Loss of sex drive. Inability or disminished orgasm.

And all that for what? 99% still can't pass. What a waste.

That sounds like an urge to me?
Is it more like a passive want and not a need? That would be awesome.

>Erectile dysfunction is common and often permanent. Loss of sex drive. Inability or disminished orgasm.
If I have any of these issues I'm just gonna get off HRT.
I'd like some of the effects of HRT, but if it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out.
>And all that for what? 99% still can't pass. What a waste.
I'm not trying to pass. I'm just trying to stay as feminine as I am right now.

I'm gay too, but I didn't mention anything about fertility in my post.

Going to the gym, getting slim or fit, looking your best naturally is what it's all about to me. Male bodies look better when they lean into that imo

Or you know, just play dress up. Boys can wear dresses and makeup without using hormones

A lot of us are actively distressed by the idea of having masculine bodies.
>Or you know, just play dress up. Boys can wear dresses and makeup without using hormones
It gets harder as you get older. Being feminine while your hormones work against you is a pain in the ass.

Yeah it doesn't matter that much if you don't do it. Challenges like NNN or some shit would be easy for me now. I do it mainly to prevent atrophy and out of boredom, still a little libido.
>>40587008
>Boys can wear dresses and makeup without using hormones
You're joking right? Past the age of 18 people start looking gross when they do that.
>Going to the gym, getting slim or fit, looking your best naturally is what it's all about to me.
I lean hard into femme, you could consider me like a straight gay in a sense. Masc has always gross to me. Androgeny is better.

>Why tho? What is so terrible about looking masculine?
Nothing really.
I just don't think I want it for myself. Whenever I imagine myself masculine I get this feeling of existential dread. It's enough to give me a migraine, it's almost indescribable.
The fear of masculinizing has been in the back of my head eating away at me since I was 13. I've resigned myself to the fact that I'm not gonna grow out of it. I think the only way I'm ever going to make it go away is by experimenting.
If HRT doesn't work out I'm just going to take dutasteride.

I can try, but the fact that my hormones are actively working against me in achieving that makes me extremely nervous.
SERMs would be an option, but adverse neurological effects are common on SERMs, not to mention how expensive SERM regimens can be.

Estrogen doesn’t make orgasms better. It slowly erases them. Testosterone is what gives them impact, intensity, and drive. Take it away, and you get a watered down version that might feel novel at first, but over time, it fades. Saying orgasms feel amazing on estrogen is like praising a dying fire because it’s flickering differently. Enjoy it while it lasts because it won’t...

I'm AMAB.
For not getting breast growth, aside from remaining on T (which I'm hesitant to do long-term), SERMs are my only option.
Dutasteride is a possible middle ground, but I'd like to explore all my options.

Nothing I said is made up. Basic endocrinology: suppress testosterone, and you suppress male sexual function. Estrogen doesn’t enhance it, it changes it, and usually not for the better long term. If reality bothers you, that’s not on me
