I have palsy in two limbs. Yes, it is a spectrum disorder, no, it doesn't make you retarded though some people who have it also have learning difficulties depending on what caused it in their case, and yes the convulsions can cause some pain though it's more like a strong restless-leg-syndrome pain than an overbearing agony, at least in my case.
