there was nothing that couldve saved it. the damage from the saturn was irrecoverable, combined with all the wasteful mega drive junk, like the 32x, nomad etc, there was no way sega was surviving 6th gen. was better to go out with a bang

i think they could have done it if the ps2 didnt have dvd capability. The system had a lot of momentum early i think if the ps2 wasnt such a suffocating force they could have pulled it off. truly a testament to how great the dreamcast was imo that they made the comback after the saturn even jsut for a while.

No, seriously, SA is pure style over substance, too flashy and 2cool4school, the game was designed to be eye candy which led to the dark era of Sonic, they turned him into Poochie. There's a reason it is CWC's favorite game.

these are the words of someone whos never actually sat down and played sa1/ only played the shitty dx port, the physics system in that game while janky is genuinely my favorite in the series. Its so fun to blast through levels chaining spin dashes and looking for inclines to spin jump off of to skip sections of the level.

I lost my old binder full so I need to plug in my old optical drive and burn some dreamcast games again

fun fact: one of the first sonic games i ever played as a kid was my uncles burned dreamcast copy of sa2. I used to play it at my grandmas where he kept his dreamcast.
