does anyone else have dreams that just... torture them?

i had an incredibly vivid dream the other day. i was on a school bus, i was back in school, about the age of 13, and with all of my current knowledge. i could socialize with my old friends again. i could start hrt way younger. i could have a second chance at later years of school, take classes i actually cared about and not fuck them up. i could have a much better start to being an adult.

i don't know how to describe how crushed i felt when i woke up and had to face reality, that it wasn't real, i don't have a second chance. in the dream there was some kind of magic phrase i wrote down that brought me to the past. after i woke up i genuinely considered fetching a notebook as fast as i could to write it down to see if it worked, but i didn't.

Yes, but they're more directly PTSD dreams. experiencing violence, death, etc.

I did used to have dreams like you're describing though. I remember I used to have a lot of just a normal day at school but I was cis and not horribly bullied. Sad stuff.

I sometimes had nightmares of getting killed, tortured, maimed etc.
Its something i can never tell anyone irl because they will think im weird or have some extreme mental issue which is kinda true
Those dreams lessened as i got a bf but sometimes i get them again, particularly self inflicted punishment after he leaves me in my dreams, killing myself by dousing gasoline over my body or using a knife and stabbing myself
