Stuff like this really just...sighhhhhhh. Like, I'm all for the humanist happy go lucky kumbaya shit. We need more of that in this crazy plastic world we live in. But it never stops astounding me that people like this don't seem to get that the version of that they're stanning is just as much of a capitalistic product as what they think they're fighting against. They really looked at the world, stumbled upon a plastic little playpen that was created for them by tptb and just stopped searching. They really can't see that the enemies they're fighting are mannequins and their goals are downloaded into their brain from hollywood movies. idfgi. And you know what's even more annoying? 90% of the people reading my post probably think I'm bitching about feminism or liberals or something. They can't see anything in the world unless it has a label slapped onto it for them by the tv. What the fuck are we doing?

queer is a slur anyone using it is anti-gay

also, taylor swift owns "torture cats" i.e. breeds that look cute but cause the cats pain - scottish folds which have floppy ears but have messed up cartilage to get the floppy ear effect - so they are in constant pain - they are banned in some countries

lmfao desu that sounds exactly like the kinda thing someone who wrote this poem would own and not really think anything of beyond "cute kitty"

hmm, well if you see something in it, I'll give a good look then. i usually have no interest in reading about ideologies bc it feels like just reading a wall of text of rando's opinions, but i should probably shake off that habit because even if i don't end up agreeing with whatever the thing is, there's always things you can learn from everything even if indirectly. or at the very least it'd make you think. these days, i just feel so tired of societal musings. i feel a draw towards spiritualism, not politics or anything like that.

poetry = meter, rhyme, figurative language

poetry died after the modernists, the last true poets where pound and elliott.

modern poetry is just identity politics and narcissistic hubris

I was raised religious, left it for a decade, then had an experience a few years ago where everything just lined up and I saw something more to the world. I've become religious again, but from a very spiritual angle, not a dogmatic one. And I'm still figuring shit out.

How about you?

absolutely. consciousness itself is a sense. pattern recognition is a sense. your current state of being is a sense
>then had an experience a few years ago where everything just lined up and I saw something more to the world
what was that if you don't mind my asking
>I've become religious again, but from a very spiritual angle, not a dogmatic one. And I'm still figuring shit out.
it's great to stay open minded. makes life fresh and engaging

i went through a phase from june-july where i was studying ancient mythology and language and storytelling and looking at it from a literary perspective. it's fun to engage with old stories and see how stories have an explicit message and then infinite implicit subtextual interpretations and how we ourselves exist as stories both internally and individually, and also collectively. the oldest, surviving foundational stories are those that most people found engaging and relatable and useful, they bring people together. we also like our personal stories to fit in with the big civilizational stories. neurology (pathos), language (logos), storytelling (mythos), and spirituality (ethos) are all interdependent on one another.

Broke up with my first bf in a very out of character way. I used to be very much against anything woowoo or supernatural. But I was also in a very confusing time of life, trying to figure shit out and heal from trauma. I heard about moldavite and bought a piece online on a whim. And then instantly made the decision to break up with him. I had already been fearing in the back of my mind we weren't gonna last, despite how good of chemistry we had, because our lives would eventually go in different directions and we'd want different things eventually. The main one being he wanted kids and I don't. There were other things I wanted that I felt the relationship couldn't give me, but looking back I think it wasn't necessarily those things but that I subconsciously knew I'd stay stagnant if I didn't leave and explore myself more on my own. Breaking up with him was the hardest thing I ever did because I was in a very dark place and desperate for love. He was the first person I fell in love with and opened my heart up to, which was very healing. I immediately regretted it emotionally, though I knew my reasoning was still valid. I was very lost the following year and a half and went down many occult, conspiracy and esoteric rabbit holes. Eventually, all of it just clicked- I realized I left religion because the version of it that was impressed upon me as a kid was fire and brimstone, dogmatic and without any love. It also suddenly made perfect sense that this world was so horrible and full of evil. During the time I was an atheist, I'd fallen into a very materialist pessimistic view of the world. Realizing that there was more to this universe than just atoms and molecules, that (in my opinion) there's a God who loves us and put us here to learn and grow from the hardships just made perfect sense. It also really softened the edge of life and I've never been suicidal ever since, despite how tough life is.

I've been thinking exactly the same stuff lately! I've always had a passing interest in jung and as I've gotten older I've realized it's because I've always been very keyed into identifying archetypes. I find old mythology and whatnot fascinating because there's so many archetypes that humans back then expressed their thoughts, feelings and knowledge through that you can still learn from and interpret today in our modern world. Is there any particular type of mythology/old stories you find interesting or relevant to yourself?

my favorite myth is asterion which is minoan in origin and i like how prevalent the bovine theme is in myths across cultures because cattle were (and are) so important (adumbla in germanic mythology, enkidu and the heavenly bull in mesopotamian, and sacred cattle in hindu). recently the cow memed in the new mario kart game and it's the same energy lol how about you?

Dear anon,
I have nothing to say but "I agree", because it makes my feel empty.
And I hope this way you feel someone out there agrees with you at least.
