Even during times like WW2, they wouldn't even allow gay men to be drafted much less trannies. San Francisco literally became the "gay mecca" it is now because the government systematically looked for and discharged any gay men during the draft because they would not allow them to serve. 50% of the issue is the fact that everyone in this situation is (no offense) a traumatized, mentally ill addict woman, so shit is bound to be dysfunctional. 25% of the issue is trannies just having a lot of baggage and shit in general because life sucks for them, so there's a lot of sensitive topics for them and many of them are on high alert about how others feel about them. 25% of the issue is you making a social faux pax and trying too hard to course correct.

Verdict: Nothing you said is really that serious, you clearly tried to extend an olive branch (even if it was awkward, you deserved grace for trying) and the cliquey shit is incredibly immature on their part.
