so? the Church of England has never been pro-LGBT even though they've softened their rhetoric in recent years. and that's true of the Anglican Church as a whole, not just one diocese in Nigeria.

the reason random african anglican bishops have any say at this point is that about 10 years ago there was a major schism in the episcopal church and about 15% of all the parishes seceded and pledged allegiance to the anglican church of west africa (or something like that), this kept them nominally part of the anglican communion while separating themselves from the "woke" faction that dominate the majority of episcopal church communities in the US
there's a longstanding unholy alliance between religious rightoids in the US, and africa, the US right supplies money to the most extreme christoids in africa and boosts their political power because it costs practically nothing in dollar terms and is an amazingly powerful signal boost
