How long does transitioning take? I mean, if I began taking estrogen today and taking care of myself to look like a girl: how long would it take 'till my transition is complete?

ime, maybe three years? i don't think i have changed very much at all since the end of my second year but the third year was when i started developing the confidence to actually wear anything besides hoodies and jeans and that sort of stuff. it did take until the middle of this fifth year (like the other anon said) for me to become fully confident wearing overtly feminine clothes like dresses, though.
but if you were really dedicated to being happy and healthy and confident, i think you could do it in three.

1 month to 100+ years. What’s the time in entirely on how you are right now, how your lifestyle is, and how your lifestyle was through your formative years and puberty. Sadly, if you can’t pass with make up now or almost half, you never probably will. Lifestyle makes us who we are, and and only about two or three years of masculine lifestyle during or post-puberty can be reversed. Five years tops.

you are welcome!!
......incidentally: 'til (with one L) is the correct aphesis :) since "until" only has one "L" at the end. not that anybody cares or notices.....but maybe you would like to know.....

Depends on what you need. A rare few could pass in months and a lot will never pass no matter how long. But i would say 3-5 years if you get the surgeries you need and work at it.

I was afraid that was the case. Not that it would take away my desire, but it would require a big change in my life. I need to find the will to do so.

Thank you, anon.

1 month to 100+ years. It all depends entirely on how you look/are right now, how your lifestyle is, and how your lifestyle was through your formative years and puberty. Sadly, if you can’t pass with makeup now or half-pass, you never probably will. Lifestyle makes us who we are, and and only about two or three years of masculine lifestyle during or post-puberty can be reversed. Five years tops. FFS can save some things but if you’ve masculinized at all it’s a huge risk.

I have a remarkably feminine build and face, and only pass about 70% of the time. Granted, I’m kind who can pass at my customer service job with no make up and a baseball hat with cropped hair and masculine clothes, so it’s something about the structure of my face/bodyiiu, since there are no signifiers otherwise. When I was 13 or 14, I was mistaken for a girl all the time, but a few years of manual labor and bad lifestyle in my 20s completely fucked me. My jawline filled out too much.

please don't apologize!! native English-speakers get this wrong all the time. i just like to help people with these sorts of things...although i am sure it probably comes off as a little annoyingly pedantic sometimes

i don't know if i buy this pessimistic outlook so much..i think being able to pass and "finish" a transition is a real gamble and definitely depends on a bunch of factors, but i think judging yourself pre-hrt is a little unfair...fat redistribution in the face really makes a difference, even if you don't have a lot of facial fat to begin with

if your environment permits it girlmode immediately. you are ripping off a bandaid and the first time will be the worst it will ever be.
