Its just bad placement. It should go yellow, brown, black, then the trans colors. The harsh color difference makes it look seperate and harsh on the eyes

Yes, the colors both first showed up on the phili pride flag together and at the time the idea was that brown = PoC (pretty nakedly just African Americans, since there are plenty of non-brown queer PoC) and black = queer people who died of aids.
But because of what was happening in America at the time (as well as a bunch of lazy reporting and attempts to hijack by woke racial nationalists), the popular narrative was that both stripes just represent black people.

It is a real shame, since I personally really like the idea of recognizing the scar that aids left on the community. But now it just gets lumped in with the gross brown stripe that only represents American racial hangups that they have now forced the rest of the world to deal with.

Tbh I never understood why they didn't just stick with the original rainbow design. It was supposed to represent all queer people without any specific callouts to their sexuality/gender/whatever and carried historical meaning.
A good flag should be memorable and easy to draw and understand. This updating every other year is just making things more complicated.

The brown stripe is to acknowledge PoC victims of violence from within the PoC communities. PoCs are the most virulent bigots against LGBT people, and I want that to be acknowledged int he flag.

does that really need a seperate thing though? all this is supposed to be included in the original flag. that's the point of it. it's a memorable, inclusive symbol. the more specific it gets the less usefulness it has as an actual flag. if anything the modern flag symbolizes all the bullshit infighting going on.

Get rid of all the extra stuff that was added in the last 10 or so years. It totally defeats the purpose of a rainbow being all encompassing. But trans people are special snowflakes that have to be recognized.
