Okay so here goes

Very few companies actually make a good boot. Take the 1937 Low Boot Design by the Wehrmacht is about as simple as you get. Not bulky nor too many layers

A lot of the northwestern companies make very good boots for Firemen and Loggers but they are way way to bulky IMO

They seem to be pattered off WW2 Jump boots from what I can tell.

I have a few boots and the best one I like is the Low Pattern 37 Design. Now I hate large mud grip style rubber soles.

Rose Anvil did a video on some Japanese WW2 Boots that I think would be a very good style if someone replicated it. Now it was made from boar and the inner sole was two pieces together to make a good 10 oz size thickness.

Also WTF keeps using synthetic thread? Hemp thread is just as strong and if waxed matches leather very well.

They shut the one down near me years ago. Like I don’t remember even back in the early 2000s if it was open. I live in Dixieland so things like Camp or Boy Scouts was non existent.

Most young boys knew how to do a lot of survival stuff just growing up.

in what way? C&J have possibly the most rigorous quality control standards for a brand that big in the entire world and they are using leather from more renowned tannery's like C. F. Stead. Nicks in particular have declined a lot in quality, all though Wesco is still apparently fantastic.

Edward Green, John Lobb, Gaziano Girling and Saint Crispin are superior in quality than anything coming out of America, the rest are equal or better except Cheany has apparently had some QC issues lately
