This might sound weird but I feel like many ftms are actually more "male" than most mtfs are "female".
Like both are essentially performing the act of the other sex, but more ftms feel like they're exactly performing that act compared to mtfs who often kinda seem like a distinct third thing that's more-female-than-male but kinda blends the two a little more in some ways.
My sample sizes for ftms are way smaller than mtf tho, so i absolutely can't pretend that the 3 ftms i've known closely and like 2 i've known more distantly is adequate when being compared against countless dozens of mtfs i've known to any extent.
