I'll take a guess and say you're probably spouting some stupid shit in your group and now no work you recommend would ever be take seriously

I feel like a lot of horror writers have one that everyone hates.

What? That's the one everyone likes in exclusion to everything else (except Innocence/Experience)
If something's neglected, it's probably The Four Zoas

Devils seems unpopular on this board but it's one of my favorite Dostoevsky novels.

I firmly believe that this book is mainly panned by women who were attracted by the author but don't understand sports, or men

ditto for Bleachers

Bram Stoker is the other way round. He's a one-hit wonder. Dracula, and a bunch of crap no-one cares about.

What? Almost the exact opposite of the truth. Marriage of H&H has all Blake's best quotes.

"The Tigers Of Wrath Are Wiser Than The Horses Of Instruction"
"Drive Your Cart And Your Plough Over The Bones Of The Dead"
"One Law For The Lion And The Ox Is Oppression"

etc

It's OK but not very good. Some French guy (Sarte?) thought it was his best book, which tells you all you need to know about Sartre, if it was him.

Devils/Demons might not be as well discussed as some of Dostoevsky’s other works, but it’s definitely not an unpopular book. That label would fit well with something like The Double or Poor Folks.

The Lost World is good, although a little generic in the classic "adventure to the unknown jungles" way.
