Is it really that great? Or is it just a midwit trap?

I'm curious about the premise, but I'm not wasting my time reading a 800 page book unless you people convince me it's really worthy it

Avoid at all costs. It's torture porn that sinks into hilarity. Orphaned? Yes. Physically disabled? Yes. Molested by orphanage monks and truck drivers? Yes. Every traumatic thing that could possibly happen to him does, as if he personally upset the Murphy of Murphy's Law. https://archive.md/aiXrg puts it best with
>The first time he cuts himself, you are horrified; the 600th time, you wish he would aim.

I liked it. It is basically misery porn but I enjoy shit like that and didn't find that it made me stop caring about the characters. Enough good things happen to counteract the bad, it's not literally 800 pages of misery. I'd say it's worth it, I think I finished it in a week because I got so invested in the characters.

This anon is right, my teenage sister enjoyed it but she told me the plot was predictable and she felt emotionally manipulated

Read Musil instead of chicklit, maybe?
Some of you people are retarded.

I enjoyed it. The fag gets what's coming to him and the book triggers foids. Both green flags in my book.

This is a good thing, though.

Thank you, I put this crap down recently after 300 pages feeling the same way. I never identified with the characters so when it got to the part about Jude growing up in a monastary being beaten by the monks I just found it a laughable attempt by the author to create the saddest character ever.
