Nicolas Langlitz' 'Neuropsychedelia - The Revival of Hallucinogen Research since the Decade of the Brain'.
It was recommended to me by the professor of an anthropology of medicine course I took to meet an distribution requirement last fall. I'm only about fifty pages in, but I'm enjoying it. I can commiserate with the author's disdain for Huxley and 'Brave New World'. It's mostly an aside but It's also interesting learning about the origins of various psychedelics from a chemist's perspective.
About two years? I'm not a regular poster.

What's the author's beef with Huxley?

While not directly accusing him, he blames some readings of Brave New World for contributing to American moral panic surrounding psychoactive drugs and turning people off of biomedical solutions to mental illnesses. There's also some bitterness later about Island painting psychedelics as pseudoreligious in the public consciousness.

Maybe fifty pages in, finding it to be an easy, fun read. Wasn’t really sure what to expect. Will probably look for more contemporary Russian lit (in translation ofc).

Not much to say about it before I'm done with it.
Been on this site for nearly a decade now, though I did not actively browse /lit/ until 2019 (not that I do still)

Got a special re-release with 300 more pages than the original printing. Big mistake it is REALLY dragging. No idea what the point of the intermission chapters are besides world building in the middle of an already slow story.

Unabridged version. I don't know what two guys quoting poetry during 5 pages or the emperor of China dying, going to the underworld and coming back has to do with Wukong or Xuanzang, but so far I'm enjoying it

The Iron Heel, by Jack London. I think London should have probably kept away from political writing, since it's very very annoyingly preachy.

In Green's Jungles
It's much easier reading the second time now that I have an idea of what's going on and where it's going. I expect that like my first time through, most of my insight will come from reflection after finishing the series.

Adventures of Tom Sawyer
It's very good, only other thing of Twain's is Huckleberry Finn which I liked a lot but I was surprised to like Tom Sawyer as much as I do for some reason. His writing is very comforting and relaxing but still feels real, it touches on real shit in a fun way. I own A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court and I'll give that a read at some point too
