Vonnegut is good
DFW is funny at times
David Sedaris' older stuff

For more low-brow stuff, I'm a big fan of the "fratire" genre:

Forgot to mention, Augusten Burroughs' books (pre-2010) are funny too

Is Sirens of Titans worth reading? I've read a couple of Vonnegut's books and wasn't super into them, but Sirens is my dad's favorite and it's pretty short.

I love vonnegut but this was one of my least favorites I've read so far. I thought it was too obnoxious for my taste and I guess I couldn't really tell what he was getting at..I mean it's fine but I was left feeling a little disappointing with that one

There was this guy called Shakespeare but you've probably never heard of him. He's a big deal in the patrician community.
