There’s no need to add anything after he perfected his system. Sure there can be some minor tweaks that you can make but ultimately you should just focus on individual subjects(logic, physics, mathematics etc..) not trying to make a whole system like Kant and Hegel. People say philosophy has stagnated and they are right; one Greek genius, a pupil of Plato, already solved everything.

Yes, Aristotle solved many problems. From the standpoint of ordinary reality he can only be tinkered with, never overcome. Philosophy just started asking different questions which he had not thought of. You could fairly say he gathered up a lot of the relatively low-hanging fruit. I'm really curious about Hegel because he engaged with Aristotle so much but I haven't read enough of him yet. Kant and Fichte were historically illiterate, Schelling wasn't much better at least in his early period (read: the only period I know anything about for now).

Aristotle:
1.) Came up with a coherent empiricist epistemology that doesn't collapse into skepticism.
2.) Figured out how infinity works, a spook that had been haunting Greek thought for hundreds of years.
3.) Figured out the unity of form and matter.
4.) Solved the problem of universals
5.) Invented political science
6.) Invented rigorous, scientific philosophy as opposed to the dicking around that preceded him.
7.) Affirmed a naturalism that doesn't collapse into atheism or nihilism, but also avoids schizo rubbish
And so much more!

Anyone who wants to get into philosophy should read Aristotle first, he will give you a firm foundation.
