his pessimism leads naturally to renunciation, not amorality

>Schopenhauer: “Harm no one, but rather help everyone as much as you can.”
this is actually the claim that
all moralists attempt to ground . . . the actual foundation of ethics that
people have sought for millennia, just as they have looked for the philosophers’
stone.” – The difficulty involved in grounding the claim just cited
might be great indeed – Schopenhauer himself came up famously short
in this regard. And anyone who has ever truly felt how inanely false and
sentimental this claim is in a world whose essence is will to power –,
they might recall that Schopenhauer, pessimism notwithstanding, actually
– played the flute . . . every day, after dinner. You can read it in his
biography. And just out of curiosity: a pessimist who negates both God
and world but stops before morality, – who affirms morality and plays
his flute, affirms laede neminem morality: excuse me? is this really – a
pessimist?

Help me understand, if you will... Why not? What is your claim for morality in the world Schoppy describes?

While Arthur Schopenhauer didn't explicitly "negate God" in the sense of actively denying a personal God, his philosophy strongly suggests a rejection of traditional theistic views, particularly those found in Western religions.

You're arguing against a solved point wherein every scholar will agree with me, written not by me, but by Nietzsche. Take your grievances to the German, David.

I haven’t read a lot of Schopenhauer, but from what I understand, he adopted the ethical philosophy of Buddhism. This morality isn’t based on abstract concepts like “good” and “evil,” but is instead grounded in compassion. All sentient beings suffer, and all sentient beings wish to be free from suffering, so we should act skillfully, i.e., in ways that reduce the suffering of both ourselves and others.

You can't be a pessimist if you don't believe in right and wrong. Pessimism is the belief that our universe is shit, which necessitates that some possible universes are better than others. If you accept that you believe in morality.

That's the point: Why? Because he had this bias? He can have that opinion but its not pessimistic at all.
