You probably found it uninspring because you don't understand it sufficiently, the point of it is that the man able to leave *shouldn't* be concerned with breaking everyone else out, they'll just be blinded or immediately try to kill that man. Instead, that man should be concerned with whether to puppeteer or not unless they notice someone else able to break out on their own.
