Redpill me on rhetoric. What is it? I've been interested in and studying the trivium for some time but it's been mostly logic. To learn more about grammar I've decided to study Latin and Greek. But what should I study to learn more about rhetoric? And how does rhetoric relate to the concept of narrative?

Already from what little I know about rhetoric I know that this idea most people have "hurr durr muh speeches n shiiet" is not what it is at all, it's way deeper than that. A text is a collection of sentences. Grammar deals with the meaning within a sentence. But a text is more than just a collection of sentences, more than the sum of its parts, the parts being sentences. The missing part of that equation is rhetoric.

Many universities offer undergraduate and graduate degrees specifically in Rhetoric, Communication, or Rhetoric and Composition. These programs provide a comprehensive understanding of rhetorical theory, history, and practice.

How would you convince someone of something without rhetoric?

i mean i think what you might mean to say is that you would like to be blue pilled on rhetoric as you mean your discourse in some sense for the public or civil affairs as well as also including the bildung of an individual discoursing or discussing with another individual on the nature of the present day or everyday or the duties to be attended to
