Does reading more (like 4+ hours a day) have greater benefits or is there noticeable diminishing returns after a while?

If all your thoughts are pretty when you read all throughout the day then you'll think pretty thoughts when you don't sneed

i think diminish i would only do it if you wanna be an intellectual or have influence with your ideas and need the background knowledge to be taken seriously

I always tell people this:
> quality > quantity
> itโ€™s better to read very deeply, very carefully, or even to re-read one great book than read hundreds of mediocre books a single time each
> but usually, you need to go wide to find the depth
> so read widely until you figure out what you should read deeply
> so quantity > quality at the beginning

I dont have diminishing returns, i keep learning new words and languages and reading more (psychoanalyzing the authors) and now I feel like im communicating telepathically with writers and im predicting every next line, I feel like im on acid whenever I read, I was pretty dull starting out, I dont intuitively understand some types of authors that are objectively easier and I dont read as often and I have to familiarize myself with them

How do you support yourself? You got time to read for 4 hours a day with a job?

You are supposed to think about what you read. Otherwise you are reading yourself stupid.
