I have created a riddle based on the Borges’ story the cult of the Phoenix. This one symbol is ubiquitous and you likely are familiar with it while not giving it much thought. This symbol is very powerful and I will give you some clues so you may decipher what it is

Wrong but good guess. This symbol is associated with POWER and all of modern politics is centered around it yet it would never be mentioned with its ‘vulgar name.’ Like the general use of the object isn’t brought up but it is ubiquitous in politics and media.

Thanks for the guesses. This was my attempt at imitating Borges’ very short two page story. I typically dislike Borges but I enjoyed Cult of the Phoenix. I liked how obliquely sexual it was though buried under nonsense (rubber used at open doorways?)
