my problem: i've got so many ideas in my head for this novel i'm writing, yet I cannot for the life of me figure out how to segway between them within the story.
I've heard storyboarding like a TV show works, i've also heard it doesn't work.
not the best writer btw, I just do it for fun.

This. I have up on sitting and writing a novel, now I just have a million scraps and notes on my phone and bits of music/artwork etc. If I ever harness my stupid fucking brain enough to edit it down I think it'll be quite a fun multimedia thing but there's certainly no actual plot going on

it seems like you don't have an overarching theme either because you don't identify strongly with any particular narrative or that you have too little life experience to bring it out

make a new text file for every "idea", write it as one chapter or scene, then when you run out of ideas you start to compile and arrange your parts and glue them into a coherent novel.

im thinking of posting some of my writing somewhere to test some ideas, maybe try that? otherwise how are you going to build experience on what works or not?

also maybe look into the problem again it sounds like you're talking about flashbacks as a trope used to tell a story within a story. its not clear what you're having a problem with. if youre having trouble linking ideas ask yourself why? do those ideas even need to be linked or should they be stories of their own? does it serve to drive a plot forward or what is your reason for connecting them? are your stories incompatible or is there some simple mechanism that you can use to connect them.
