What have you read recently? Do you read in the park?
>>24516729 (OP)A book by a German who was a prisoner of war in the Egyptian desert after WW2 for a couple of years. And no, I don’t read at the park.
>>24516734You can just say "I read Lawrence of Arabia" instead of being a pretentious twat you know
>>24516750I didn’t even know there was a book of Lawrence of Arabia, the book I read is German
I'm reading shit none of you ever heard of
>>24516729 (OP)Hear The Wind Sing by Haruki Murakami, and am now in the middle of Pinball, 1973. both are comfy asf.
and no. I always read alone in my room, usually slightly drunk on scotch.
>>24516729 (OP)I like the idea of reading outside but the noise always distracts me too much. Currently reading Infinite Jest which would be too embarrassing to read in public anyway.
>>24516729 (OP)I'm reading Outer Dark at the moment having finished Blood Meridian, I did read in the park on the sunny walk back from buying it.
>>24516947Who the fuck is that? The book I was referring to is Das Zeltbuch von Tumilad
>>24516729 (OP)I would like to be able to read outside in summer but the heat makes my head go woozy or I get too distracted people watching. I would also like to drink when I read but the alcohol makes my head go woozy and the text goes over my head.

>>24516729 (OP)Recently finished The Sound and the Fury, reading it entirely outside which was a great experience.
I've been reading Dark Matter for months. Maybe because I started reading it while based in Chicago, so reading this book still keeps me there even if I've moved on.
Anyway, I reread the Cosmere again. Considering rereading Lolita specifically to piss off a few cunts, a tranny, and my ex.
>>24516729 (OP)I have a provincial park that runs through my city; I tend to read in a ravine early in the morning with deer before work.
this.
and no, i don't drink
>>24516729 (OP)I'm almost finishing The Pillars of the Earth. I think I expect a bit too much, the writing itself isn't really good and almost all characters are very anachronistic and think like 20th century people.
But I'd still say that it is an enjoyable book, although some of the sex scene made me physically cringe because of how bad they were.

I finished this today. It was really good and the main character is literally me except that I'm not starving. It tells of a writer thats barely making by and he is a pretty weird character. One moment he might be sociable, the next he might get angry and take it out on other people and then minutes later regret it profusely. Highly recommended for the /lit/izen
I've finished reading Mad Toy by Roberto Arlt. It's kino.
Now I'm reading Quicksand. It's really messy.
Just finished reading Bataille’s Theory of Religion, and now I find myself a bit lost. I've decided that going through Bataille’s work, I would take breaks in between each book I read so as to not get burnout. Problem is, I haven't been able to find any work that keeps my interest, I've tried "The Conspiracy against the Human Race race" but the tone felt too whiny and without enough theory, then I went for "Nihil Unbound" which I thought was a bit too focused on scientific knowledge to my taste. Can anyone recommend something more along the lines of Bataille’s "mystical"* materialism and the undefined immanence of non-human experience?
*Note: I know calling it mystical is wrong, but I feel that it gets the point across faster that way.
Make Something Wonderful - Steve Jobs in his own words
I'm almost finished The Master and Margarita. I've been drinking a lot lately so I haven't gotten much reading in but soon I'll take my book to the park and binge read it. I do love the park.
>>24519491i tried to read bataille book called eroticism, but right in the first part he said that in order to progress further one should have the experience of having sex (o algo) - so that we could understand what he mean with this and that, and thats the part where i got cosmically filtered and do a 360 from that book
