I'm not bothering with a no effort post. If Koyré has a real attack on Kuhn, then explain.

Been meaning to get to it on account of Stanley Rosen recommending it as good, but haven't gotten to it.

Speaking of, Rosen has a great account of that atmosphere.

I have to say Kojeve has to be one of the most fruitful philosophers of all time, his work isn't tight-knit and has pretty much no barriers against any skeptics compared to other more autistic philosophers but just the sheer creativity and variety of avenues his work opens is insane. He's a bit like Feuerbach in that regard.

I agree, one of those strange figures who's largely unknown but who influenced (for better and worse) a host of French thinkers, literary artists, the EU, and then Americans like Fukuyama, while being besties with a polar opposite like Strauss and writing letters to Stalin and Schmitt. Fascinating and super weird guy.

Ah, nice, I hadn't heard about that. I've only read the Hegel lectures, correspondence with Strauss, an essay on Julian the Apostate for the Strauss festschrift, and the letters to Stalin and Schmitt. Been meaning to dig into his Outline of a Phenomenology of Right for a while. Wonder when anyone will translate his history of philosophy or a full version of the Hegel lectures.

He has a book on Kant that I would also recommend. If you like his reading of Hegel there's also an essay of his floating around on the idea of death in Hegel's philosophy.
