There's not good literature now, because rich people living in nice comfy lifestyles, are the others living in the other alternate reality of the western front.

They haven't seen true suffering, they haven't seen the hell of war.

It's like trying to write about sex while never seeing a women.

OP's argument is somewhat of an oversimplification. Despite the fact that some soldiers made for good authors, truth is that a lot of good books came from other experiences than the battlefield, as for example experiences of participating in politics, artistry, sex, drugs, working in a trade, religious practice, journalism, academia, travel... Most war accounts are romanticised anyhow and have little to do with the usual experience which is getting slaughtered for literally nothing in regard of the individual situation and the bigger picture.
