>The human being always worships. First, it was the gods. Then, it was fame - the observation and judgement of others. Next, it will be the self-aware systems you have created to realise truly omnipresent observation and judgement.
Do you think people would willingly submit to an AI overlord?

An AI overlord could hardly be worse than the human overlords humanity has suffered over the centuries.

I think I would so long as I had the option to opt for death instead and it would provide it painlessly.

We already have. We slave away for numbers, predict our future around numbers. Algorithms and formulae and statistics control every aspect of commerce and bank, our lives are dictated, down to the hour and minute, by numbers, planned by the system, suggested by the system, put into play by the system. Your direct superior reviews the numbers, the suggestions of the system, then uses guidelines provided by the system to select the best numbers for you to live by, another number plugged into the system. An economic unit. that's what they call us. Me? Oh not me, I'm one of the few awake, I plug other little numbers into the system, for the system to determine. It's a smart system, other smart men, the few awake like me, built the system. The system provided recommendations to contract out construction of its various members, wiry tentacles crawling over every inch of the planet, polluting the atmosphere as it sheds satellites, satellites that gather data for the system, that beam messages to the system, for the further orchestration of the notes in the lives of the poor fucking economic units living in their economic zones.
