Has anyone read this book by Galileo Galilei? Sounds very interesting.

>In 1633, Galileo Galilei was convicted of serious heresy and his work, on which the accusation was based, was placed on the Index of Prohibited Books shortly afterwards. Beyond the tragic fate of the author, the dialog on the two most important world systems is a highly relevant document for those interested in science as well as cultural history. In it, Galileo not only explains his principle of relativity and discusses his proposal for measuring the speed of light, but also shows the consequences of the clash between the modern scientific method and the scholastic understanding of the world.

He's a great read. Just keep in mind that, surprisingly, he doesn't actually prove heliocentrism, like, at all, as one might think. But his physics goes on to be incredibly important to the development of Newtonian physics.
