Reading strengthened my personality. When i returned from neetdom into social life by my midtwenties i learned that somehow i had become very attractive to women, that i eminated a superiority to most men. My shyness and reclusiveness had also been, which i only noticed then, been replaced by a steadfastness and unimposing maturity.
It had not been my plan, nor was i aware of it happening, but discovering my love for literature after i dropped out of school from serious depression, feeding my curiosity, refining my sensitivity, saved my life.
This wont be true for everyone though.
