>>24525402Oh, well, the journal in question is actually one I got recommended to by the editor of another journal that I had submitted to beforehand. I showed the first journal three stories, the editor rejected them all, but said that one of my stories in particular might be a good fit for this current journal. So I submitted that story to this current journal and got accepted. I made sure to namedrop the editor of the original journal, which may or may not have helped, but I figured it couldn't hurt.
Social media is a big way to find journals. Go to Twitter or Instagram and search "submissions," you'll usually find accounts announcing that they're open for submission to poetry or prose.
Also, Submittable is a big submissions portal that a lot of magazines and journals use. They have a "Discover" tab that you can use to search for journals open for submission. Check it out:
