The Castle isn't essentially about bureaucracy but dreams and dream-economy. Chances are good you are in a "The Castle" situation rn without being aware of it, or being aware of it. Part of the delight of the Castle is that it doesn't matter id you're aware of it or not

I must admit to the shame of never having finished it, despite getting ~90% through it. By the looks of the bookmark dated 2017, that is. Simply lost interest and skipping a day turned into weeks, months, years, other books...
It didn't feel like it was going anywhere, I recall. But then again, I that's the point. I suppose I must start over with it some day, simply out of principle. This thread is as good an excuse as any. It's only 200 pages or so.
