The whole Kyoto thing I mean I just googled it and couldnt find who I was thinking of. We could be talking about the same person lol, I read an article years ago that linked Heidegger to some eastern thought through some of his students who were connected to the Kyoto school but I can't find the exact thinkers. Heidegger even had a quote on Zen I believe it was where he said something like ''If I'm not mistaken, this is similar to what I'm also talking about'' or whatever it was. I'm starting to ramble, this is really bothering me lol.

True, at most there may be some Japanese-Americans but even that I doubt. Purely circumstantial but I don't think I've ever talked to a Jap on here throughout the years (though there are a lot of Chinese anons). I think the Japanese internet pipeline just doesn't seem to cross 4chan, all the Japanese users on other boards are always just english teachers too.

Maybe you could try those cultural/language exchange apps op? You'll mostly run into normies but you might find someone into literature
