Listening to audibooks is equivalent to listening to podcasts. As for the reason it is not equivalent to reading is that it is a passive activity, the words just wash over you whether you understand or process them is irrelevant, it just keeps on playing. Therefore it is not conducive to true learning or understanding.

Fiction on the other hand I don't understand. I've tried like three books, which I had to drop after 2 minutes. It's incredible just how much the interpretation the reader can ruin the experience. This has almost convinced me fiction audiobook readers are npcs
