I first read the Odyssey, Robinson Crusoe, then Treasure Island one after another in that order. It was accidental at the time but those are three books that follow on very well from each other and you can see the influences.

In the Caribbean:

A High Wind in Jamaica (Richard Hughes)

In the south Atlantic:
Three Years in Tristan Da Cunha (Katherine Mary Barrow)

A fishing village in Norway:

And a few set in Newfoundland:
