If you work out the Soto versions of Hegel and Heidegger then you run into Dogen's dilemma. At surface level Heidegger appears to be more aligned, but the direct meditative approach won't work with Heidegger unless you accept some rationality, so you're back to Nietzsche/Descartes or Hegel on the western side. The Soto school won't admit to using Hegel's methods but if any sort of initiation occurs then it's also hard for them to deny this. There technically isn't a Mahayana school that is a 1 for 1 on Hegel that I've encountered, but there are some that are remarkably similar, or at the very least can conclude on an agreement.
The only other option is total darkness. To Hegel that is another batch of empty pages placeholding a temporary peace. Your agreement wasn't necessary.
