Write what you feel about picrel, Anything you feel about it, It should not be perfect and i'll reply to it and tell you how it is, Be nice to each other.
I'll start with mine

He gazes at the mountains, The brim sky and the distance that leads to somewhere but with no path, An overwhelming vastness that keeps him at his place and reminds him of his frail existence yet tempts him with a longing for somewhere beyond the mountains that stand as a reminder for his past, Yearning for a meaning behind the mist that drowns him in constant reflection of what should be, A profound melancholy yet to be explained....

There is a mist overflowing the landscape. Mountains can be seen far away and rocks are on the ground close to his feet. He looks deep in thought yet hardly any thoughts are entering his consciousness. He is painfully aware- of the moment, of the beauty and the pain. In lieu of thoughts, solemn kind of longing suddenly absorbs him and leaves him speechless yet resolute in grappling with the upcoming unknown

I have nothing immediately poetic to contribute. But, synchronistically, I was thinking about this painting today while tangentially ruminating about Thomas Cole’s “Prometheus Bound”. A subject I’m sure is familiar with most people on this board. What struck me about the painting was the polarity of the subjects within the piece. Prometheus, humanized, tied to the mountain he’s dwarfed by in addition to Zeus, represented as a subtle celestial object within the vast sky. What made this painting profound to me was the polarity between humanity and the grandiosity of nature. Mythology often represents deities anthropomorphized, but representing Zeus as a distant celestial body gives the subject more mysterious gravity. Which transitioned into thoughts about John Martin’s apocalyptic work, and then to Caspar David Friedrich’s magnum opus. I love how in romantic art nature is portrayed as something simultaneously grandiose, powerful, mysterious, but also enchanting.

All the roads that he has taken in the past has led him to this place, with the only friend he has ever known as a constant companion throughout the journey. Although the climb was filled with joys, hurdles, pain and boredom, he looks at the cloudy skies, the mist, trees and realises that even though the journey was difficult at times, he’s glad to have made it. He considers the taller mountains in the distance, and contemplates the fact that he’s got a lot more mountains left to climb and conquer.

"I've seen some mountains in my day, and let me tell you, this is a mountain!" He said outloud to no on inparticular. It's been too long since he last resigned himself to the beauty of nature, it has been a nice reprieve to escape modernity for an evening. Though this weekend was quicking coming to an end and he though dreadfully of his next shift at the hospital. Pajeets have flooded his small midwestern town and under the legislation he would be expected to provide for them with no charge. They smelled so bad. Even niggers at least had some semblance of a warriors spirit. At least his nurse was sucking him off during their brakes. A downward torrent of golden honey outlined her picturesque face, softing the heart, before her icey blue eyes pierced right through her.

What life would be like if every woman looked like that?

I first saw this image while watching Murdoch Murdoch. Used to listen to a lot of moonman back then too. now I hate all that crap and experience disgust whenever I see this image. But I still have slurs and shit floating around in my head from brainwashing myself with moonman songs.

Thank you, Anon. I liked your writing too. I felt like it reminisces nostalgia and a yearning for a past time where you were happier. It’s interesting that our current state of mind could influence the way we feel about it, thus leading to different perspectives.

In those churning mists I saw spires and minarets and lighthouses that were and weren't and the wind blew in great circulations that caught my coat tails and brought them down to tap against the top of my good riding boots and the rhythm not unlike that of my wife as she once tapped her long far fingers upon our maple kitchen counter top.
