What are your thoughts on The Satanic Bible by Anton LaVey as a book?

I was expecting satanism. The type where you sacrifice goats, grim rituals to summon demons, and extoling the virtues of Satan and why one should sin against gods creation and all that. Instead I got repackaged hedonism with slight Jungian psychology where Lavey says that Satan is just a human projection for whatever we want.

Wow. Thanks. Big props my dude. Thanks for giving me an excuse for being a prick I guess. Seriously, once you boil the entire book down and get past all the academic talk you realize it's just LaVey justifying why he should be allowed to do whatever he wants. You get the same philosophy from Ayn Rand, just without the libertarianism and more junk theology.
