A bookmark is neutral good because it's the purpose of a bookmark to mark the book. You were probably given a bookmark at a bookshop and used it.
Cards and bills are chaotic good because they are completely unpredictable: these objects have no purpose of bookmarking yet they do the job.
Receipts and scrap paper are lawful neutral because they are simply boring. They are not as interesting as cards or money.

Throughout my entire life I have utilized all of these except chaotic evil. I did rip pages out of books but it was not to hold my place, I was two.

I like to use scraps I find. Sometimes the receipt for the book. Recently a book had a card out of somebody's rolodex. Another was a former school library book, last checked out in 1964, and it had a flyer in it for a piano concert at the school (picrel). When I don't have something whimsical or sentimental for a bookmark, I use a blank white bookmark which I bought in a pack at an art supply store.

I've bought thousands of books at thrift stores and I have a drawer full of vintage bookmarks that I pull out as needed. The main one I use is a cloth bookmark with eskimos pulling a sled. I remember when I read Gravity's Rainbow, I found an air force one with a picture of a rocket that said "THE FUTURE BELONGS TO THE AIRMAN"

A bill qualifies, a playing card does not. It has no utility separate from the deck apart from as a bookmark, same as a receipt, hence lawful neutral
