>>24541724 (OP)One of my colleagues really liked Zizeks Hitchcock book about lacan. Im generally against most secondary sources for Lacan though, even from zizek who has his own way of fashioning continental thinkers that dont do justice to their actual work.
It really isn't hard though, start with seminar 10, remember that at the end of every lecture Lacan always ends his seminars by spilling the beans on what he really means and gets rid of the jargon. It isn't hard to get what he's saying if you just take the time to endure through everything even if you dont get it and take notes. One of his essays in the ecrit that started with "subversion of the subject" is also a good read, maybe not exactly a starter but it provides a little background for what lacan is aiming for when he is making psychoanalysis a science.
