Is modern Weird Fiction an actual thing, ie, something that has active creators involved in producing actual Weird Fiction?

I hate this as a genre, weird fiction should be more than just "woah, didn't see that coming," it should explore the limits of fiction and not just plot.

Michael Cisco is one of the best. All of his books are worth reading but Unlanguage is probably his weirdest formally. It's House of Leaves done right, just pure language.
