OK /lit/ give it to me straight:
Wheel of Time
Is it a truly rewarding 14-book epic, or is it way too long for what you get?

I won't accept something like "books 10-13 are a drag, but book 14 is great". Why would anyone intentionally read four bad books to read one good book?

it's definitely worth reading up to book seven if you haven't read any other fantasy literature. reading the whole series is an absolute waste of time though.

a video summary or a detailed written recap will give you 90% of the story’s value in a fraction of the time

I liked it when I was 13 and generally into fantasy stuff but it's definitely not worth the time of an adult who can parse more interesting books. Most of it is banal filler.
