Phenomenology of Spirit. Some wild shit, very ambitious. Much more concrete and concerned with real life than Kant, Fichte or Schelling. It is a bitch to read. I was looking at scholarly interpretations of the “inverted world” and found five different ones. I look forward to mastering it but expect it to take at least a couple of months, maybe longer.

I'm re-reading The Last Gentleman by Walker Percy and it's not as good as I remember it. Love in the Ruins and moviegoer are still 5/5 great books but Gentleman is going down to a 3/5 so far.

I think it's because I'm older and find the amnesia really overly done. His other MC's are crazy in a fun way but this one is just such an unbelievable misanthrope that it's distracting.

>A history of ancient Greece from prehistory to the Roman conquest
It's an Italian manual for college, it's very good but there are things i did not understand well so far, it's unclear for example what Dorians and Ionians exactly are.
>Madame Bovary
Italian translation. This book is really garbage. Shitty narration in which the characters are really secondary to the story, it's impersonal and soulless.
>an introduction to Hinduism
This book is really good but it is biased and preachy. The philosophy and theism is garbage tho. Gethin's book on Buddhism is infinitely superior.

I finished reading very recently
>Real Magic by Dean Radin
The most scientific parts are kinda boring and dry but it's a great book and a normie killer.
>a book about the history of religion
It's also a general history of humanity to some degree. I enjoyed it a lot but the chapter on religion among primitive peoples was very boring, and by primitives it's mainly tribes of the last two centuries so probably it has little value for the history of religion.

Men are not vanishing, they are retreating. From relationships, from institutional demands, from collective obligation. Not by cowardice, nor nihilism, nor weakness - but by sacred refusal to collude with a world that has hollowed out the feminine into parody, and severed eros from its mythic root.
This retreat is not a conscious movement toward soul, for most men have not heard of soul. It is not a deliberate descent into myth, for most don't remember the myths. And yet it happens. Everywhere.
Men retreat not in search of the feminine within but in search of refuge. They turn away from real relationships, work, education, not because they hate women, but because the outer feminine devoid of beauty, of function, of soul has become unrecognizable. And if given a choice between emptiness and the parody, they choose emptiness. They choose nothing rather than violate what remains of their inner integrity.
But it is there, in the void, that the great possibility stirs.
Even if they do not name her, do not know her, have never met her, still within that emptiness, the anima awaits.
She does not need to be reimagined, reengineered, or "updated". She does not ask to be made familiar to the modern psyche. She need only be seen. Once. As she is. In the dark. Without distortion. Without irony. Without demand.

This act of remembering is enough.

Because where culture collapses, myth re-emerges. And where men descend into the silence beneath language, soul prepares its next eruption. The anima was never meant to be found in daylight; she is born in shadow, dwells in dream, and speaks first through absence.
So let it be said: true virtue is born in darkness.
And when men meet her there not as escape, not as fantasy, but as a reawakening they will return. Not as obedient citizens of a broken world, but as bearers of the fire: visionaries, warriors, poets, and builders, not of new systems but of meaningful life.

This is not disappearance, it's gestation.

Super solder in another world

It's enjoyable and I love many of the characters, but some of the exposition and lore dumps are a bit much and the magic system seems half baked.
Is it high class literature that will impress anyone, hell no.

She is fat. The picture is great, but she's clearly overweight .

I don't give no fucks, as I'm already a walking red flag, so destroying my life alongside someone as crazy as I am would be the fair thing to do.

Fat, slim... it's all the same to me, a beast lacking discernment, a terrorizer... an idea.

Our oriental heritage by Will Durant. I’m reading it while also listening to an audiobook of it to read it faster. It’s very good. Would recommend.

women are intended to be fat; fatness is a cornerstone of woman-ness.
though there are different types of fat, with the visceral type being ugly and unhealthy while subcutaneous fat leads to a fuller more womanly form

I took a break from more mature literature to read the Harry Potter series because I had never read them. Kind of wanted to at least have that under my belt. Finished the last book today. Was quite good for what it was.

Currently reading Treasure Island because I've never read the actual book, it's fine. Favorite part so far is the language used while Silver is scheming with the other crew members next to Jim's apple barrel. Might read either a history of actual piracy next or move over to Around The World In 80 Days.

Working my was (mostly) chronologically through Waugh and this might be the best so far, or at least on part with Decline and Fall.

closeted homosexuals almost always choose a skinny gf with no tits or ass - they only care about others perceiving them as "straight" and aren't actually aroused by the female form
