Moving out and getting your own place at 18 is a historical anomaly at this point. And the spread your wings thing never really happened in many countries (Spain, Italy, etc).
So it’s an anglo expectation from about 1950-1990 or so. Now we’re back to not being able to afford it.

>"Perhaps it is unseemly to bring up his personal life, but it seems here we must. If the choices are between a celibate spiritual or secular order and family life, Evola himself chose neither. Instead he lived with his mother as long as she was alive. Since in Italy at the time, a son would live a home until he married, this should not be considered unusual, except that he was pushing 50. Also, in ancient Rome, even married sons remained at the father’s home until he died. But that just demonstrates the normal expectations of Roman life."

I’m 27 and live with my parents still. It’s the one thing I get so heavily judged for it’s insane. Like, some boomers are straight up rude about it to my face like it personally offends them.
They never bother to ask my parents how they feel about it. They want me to stay. Place would fall apart without me.

My father’s (who is 73) friends and/or cousins usually. Also his brothers, my uncles.
Aunts and uncles on my mom’s (who is 60) side are also judgmental about it.
For instance my mom’s brother and law last time I saw him was talking to my dad about how he kicked his son out of the house. Kind of a weird story to tell when it’s just the 3 of us in the living room together. I considered it a bit of a jab at me.
Then at the 4th of July party we held at my house the other day, my dad’s new friend started rambling about it’s about time I start building a house of my own or something then I heard him talking to someone else and then he stopped himself and said “I better not say anymore, I might not get invited back”.
I’m going to visit my dads cousins this weekend with my parents and I just know there going to be some low key shit talking about me.

Nobody well-adjusted wants to become a writer, except those who slip into it after another career, like those ex-intelligence spy novel sloppers.
Non-slop writers write about being weird and an outsider, and if you identify with that in your youth already, it's probably because you are just that.
Living with your mom after you're a mature sexual being is weird. Half the people you listed were incels, femcels, faggots, or some other kind of repressed awkward broken personalities. Howard killed himself when his mother died. Lovecraft was an inactive neet as long as she was alive. Borges was a mommy's boy into his old age, and married right after she died. Kafka lived in fear of his parents' disapproval of his personal life.
It's crazy how Freud was right about everything.

Tell them to fuck off. If you keep putting up with it they will keep guilt tripping you, because you're showing weakness and therefore as an easy prey. If you help around the house you don't have to answer to anyone else (and even then, living with your parents was what everyone do before jews subverted society).

They're all fucking retards, but if it makes you feel any better, it's likely just another form of ossified thinking where beyond a certain point in life, certain types are incapable of updating their thinking in regards to society at large. Like how those who suffered through the Great Depression still reused their tea bags and scrounged every penny even in times of plenty decades afterward, Boomers are incapable of doing the calculus to realize you can't rent a one bedroom apartment that isn't in the ghetto for part-time wages at a retail job like in their youth, or the absurdity of sending off literal hundreds of job applications and getting nowhere because you didn't put the secret keyword in your resume to not get automatically rejected by an AI.
