I like the movie. It's a good noir. It just has nothing to do with the book.
And I like other pkd better.

NTA but UBIK, A Scanner Darkly, Flow My Tears the Policeman Said, and The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch are all really good. I personally liked Androids, probably more than the guy you're responding to, but those are my favourites.

I don't like how they remove all the best and thought-provoking elements of it then change the conclusion to "le androids have empathy." Literally opposite of what PKD was trying to say.

I am not a PKD scholar but I like The Man in the High Castle becuase it's a good and simple demonstration of what he's all about and The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch because it's a good synthesis of what makes his writing interesting
popular choices would be A Scanner Darkly and Valis but they are a bit more in your face, I think
some of them I probably have to reread, Ubik was the first book I read by PKD and I had no idea what it's supposed to mean

Is it just "le nazis bad, boohoo the jew" like the TV adaptations, or more nuanced?

Coming to terms with the fact that bladerunner and electric sheep are only tangentially related is an important part of every young pkd fan's life.

Blade Runner 1982 mogs it and is one of the top ten best movies ever made. The novel however mogs Blade Runner 2049 which was utter franchise slop.

Three Stigmata really peters out at the end. Very weak compared to novels like Maze of Death which had strong endings.

What does that have to do with its ending, brainlet? Three Stigmata you could tell he bit off more than he could chew, could have chopped the last 20% and it would have improved it.

I was absolutely bored to tears by High Castle. It was too slice-of-life and had way too many extended monologues where the characters talk to themselves. In fact it was the only PKD I've read that I downright disliked.

Not an argument and you are the one who is clearly emotionally latched on to work and incapable to discuss critiques with those works you simp for with other fans who have read him. Emotional, female-brained dweebs like you pull discussions down.

It has less "action" but the prose is on the same level as his other works (i.e. not particularly great).
I liked it hor the clarity of concept.

It is more of
>big fucking nazis on the cover
>oh you're so brave Mr Dick, take these awards
>completely inconsequential to the setting or the plot
The worst PKD novel I've read. Absolutely atrocious writng. Retarded plot that goes nowhere. All of these books >>24553562 are miles ahead of Castle.
Flow My Tears has the smoothest writing, almost feels like a different author (not in a bad way)

Why the fuck did they remove the scene with the fake police department? They could easily have fitted that into the movie.
