some kino jewish pilpul
a lot of boring bullshit like records of how the law was interpreted in particular cases
mysticism at times
plenty of /pol/-tier ragebait quotations
a lot of it is fucking boring dude. you seriously wanna read the mishnah of jewish dietary requirements, rituals of purification and other mundane shit?
you want a fun read, check out Aryeh Kaplan’s work on meditation and mysticism in the Jewish tradition
but by all means read the Talmud.
Safaria.org has multiple translations and commentaries (only some in translation but most of the ones you’d want to read are translated).

Insanely detailed and boring pilpul on subtle details of ritually slaughtering goats, extinct types of leprosy, diseases of goats, how to cheat the sabbath prohibitions, contracts for renting goats, menstruation and how to sacrifice goats in the Temple
Check out tractate Pirkei Avot for actually interesting aphorisms
If you're a Christian and want insight into Jewish understanding of the Old Testament read Rashi, if you want the quick rundown on how to do Judaism correctly read Shulchan Aruch, if you want schizophrenic mystical lore read Zohar or a collection of Aggadah

If you're not reading it in the Hebrew original, you are just reading the watered down translation approved for goy consumption.

Safaria.org has a lot of different stuff. I will read parts of the talmud if I want to see different takes on Bible passages. There is some good exegesis in there, or by doing a search on safaria I’ve found other commentary that is interesting even if I don’t agree with it.
