> Evil is committed without effort.
Not true for all evil. Some people put in a lot of effort to destroy others.

> no evil writers?
Cause all writers produce art? No matter who, or what they write?

The way I took this was that it’s easier to disregard virtuous behavior and act in complete self interest at the expense of others where as doing the right thing requires discipline and self sacrifice which goes against ourselves instinctively. I don’t think it’s as literal as “all effortless and easy behavior is evil and everything deliberate and effortful is good.”

Obviously he meant that evil is the natural mode, and to resist it takes effort. He didn't mean it's easy in practice.

That's kinda beautiful. Evil people gathered and tried to better themselves by creating all these things. Like they wanted to change their evil nature into a better one. Consciously. I still hope we are not inherently evil, but I see your point.

You can take a Platonist view, reconciling both evil and good within human nature through the tripartite soul. I avow I have a pessimist penchant and an admiration for Christianity, so I take a more pessimistic view. Of course, we can only address evil in relation to humanity and reason, natural selection, adaptive aggression can produce evil acts, but still natural ones.
