I often struggle with gay little distractions when reading at home but when I’m at the library I’m completely locked in when reading. It’s awesome. I just came home from the library and read 67 pages in one sitting (about 2 hours). I literally haven’t read this much in my entire life in such a short amount of time.

I love the library

/lit/ posters mostly collect books they do not read, for social clout. The library goes against that. This is why you see circle jerking about the same classic books being posted over and over. The average /lit/ poster is not well read.

Make sure you bring earplugs or ear muffs with you when some handler decides to bring in the tards
I've been doing it recently and it's pretty good

Last time I went to the library a homeless schizophrenic wandered the building talking to himself as loud as he could. I acknowledged him on my way out and I think he flew into a rage because of it, I wasn't around to watch the aftermath though.

For me there was this schizo lady who had a crush on and kept introducing herself as Queen Victoria. I'd tell her I was trying to read, then she'd say ok, but then she'd forgot in like 3 seconds and introduce herself as Queen Victoria again.

Good job OP, you must have picked a peaceful country to be born in, or a suburban/rural American location. Central American city libraries are hellholes, although they house the best inventory. Mine has this big atrium which communicates to the entire building so that when the random feral schizo starts shouting and gets limited and booted out by security, ABSOLUTELY EVERYBODY HEARS IT and ABSOLUTELY EVERYBODY IS DISTRACTED for a minute or two and then several minutes thereafter, thus losing attention on whatever it was that they were doing. Half are browsing stupid shit on the internet but the other half are doing decent basic research type stuff, minding their own business. Fuck the architect (César Pelli), who made the unreasonable assumption of a high trust society.

it would be great if libraries restricted entry to cardholders. can't stand seeing degenerates and bums hogging the tables and computers and stinking up the place.
