How can he be a pessimist and a moralfag? Why would he not advocate for being mighty and immoral instead of moralfagging? Even the buddhism that he's inspired by is more immoral than his philosophy.
pessimism is a moral position
I think he covers this at one point. Leaning into the will like that instead of denying it just leads to desire burning stronger. He actually says at one point pretty explicitly that shitty immoral people suffer the most in this world, because the will burns stronger in them, and they don't have the escape of aesthetics or denial of the will.
Schopenhauer thinks that people's personalities are pretty much hard set, and ethical education doesn't matter much. People with empathy are empathetic, people without it are unempathetic, and there's little that can be done about that.
Do you like suffering, because that's how you suffer. If you'd bothered to read him or even his wiki you would know, like buddhism, the goal of his ethics is to not suffer. Like the goal of his aesthetics.
schopenhauer's pessimism was that masses are immoral and masses always win against the moral minority that is capable of establishing a community worth being a part of.
