I asked myself how are we to understand the concept of honour in relation to anonymous spaces like /lit/, for example. Cool, in spaces where you are connected to a fixed identity, you do have a reputation that is bound to you, so you are, in a way, controlled by it. (And motivated/propelled by it as well.) But if there's no identity, and thus no stable record of gestures – why act in a positive, generative way?
And that's the very root of honour, I believe. It must never be approached from this marketplace-logic mind. If you are a minecraft aristocrat, you behave like one despite being recognized for it or not. That's just in your essence. You post OC’s without fear. You radiate confidence and love because it is your nature. And you want your bros to prosper in the same spirit. Because that is honourable. And generous. (And that is what Nietzsche meant by being a free spirit.)
What do you think?
