Thought on Charles Willeford? Any favorites from his work?

I liked Miami Blues and The Burnt Orange Heresy. I havenโ€™t read anything else by him though.

I watched the movie Miami Blues a while back, there was something peculiar in the humor and writing, it lead me to read something by Willeford.

And so I finished The Burnt Orange Heresy last night and I enjoyed reading it.
I had these flashes of understanding when I read it, but I can't recall any of them now... still in disbelief he did Berenice like that, wonder what that meant or what she meant in that story.
Felt really accurate about critics somehow.
(I see there's a movie made from 2019 made based on it, but just judging from the pictures it has the vibes all wrong.)

Pick-Up is really engrossing and a quick read. It also has a great twist in the last sentence/paragraph.
